Convert HEIC Photos

Apple's HEIC format saves up to 50% storage on iPhones, but Windows PCs, Android devices, and most websites cannot open it natively. Instabatch decodes HEIC photos locally and exports them as JPG, PNG, WEBP, or GIF.

No iCloud upload, no third-party app install — just drag your iPhone photo into the browser and pick your target format. Our built-in HEIC decoder runs entirely offline.

Every conversion uses instaBatch processing to protect your privacy, remove GPS metadata, and deliver files that open everywhere.

1. Upload Your HEIC Photo

Drag and drop an iPhone .heic or .heif file from your device.

2. Choose Export Format

Select JPG, PNG, WEBP, or GIF as your universal output format.

3. Convert & Download

Save a compatible image that opens on Windows, Android, and the web.

Key Features

  • iPhone HEIC Decode: Open Apple's high-efficiency format without installing extra software.
  • Windows Compatible: Export JPG or PNG files that open natively on any PC or laptop.
  • Space-Efficient Source: HEIC stores twice the detail at half the size — we preserve quality on export.
  • Multi-Format Export: Convert HEIC to JPG, PNG, WEBP, or GIF from a single upload.
  • 100% Private: Your iPhone photos never leave your browser during decoding.
  • EXIF & GPS Removal: Strip location data and camera metadata automatically on export.

What is HEIC and why does my iPhone use it?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It stores higher quality images at roughly half the file size of JPG.

Why can't Windows open HEIC files?

Windows does not include a native HEIC codec by default. Converting to JPG or PNG with Instabatch is the fastest way to view and share iPhone photos on PC.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG on my computer?

Upload your .heic file, ensure JPG is selected as output, and click Convert & Download. No app installation or account required.

Does HEIC conversion remove GPS location data?

Yes. Exporting to JPG, PNG, or WEBP redraws the image locally and strips all EXIF metadata including GPS coordinates from your iPhone photo.

Can I batch convert multiple HEIC files?

Currently, convert one HEIC file at a time. Because decoding is instant and local, processing each photo takes only seconds.

Is my HEIC photo uploaded to a server?

Never. Our HEIC decoder uses instaBatch techniques to process your photo entirely in your browser — zero cloud uploads.
