How do I download all images from a Reddit gallery post as a ZIP?

How does Instabatch parse Reddit's gallery and media_metadata structure?
Our server reads the post's gallery_data.items array, cross-references each item ID against media_metadata for CDN URLs and MIME types, then fetches each asset via Decoupled Auth — no Reddit OAuth or login session required.
Will Reddit notify the poster when I download their gallery images?
No. Server-side CDN extraction from i.redd.it does not trigger Reddit's save or screenshot notifications. The download occurs on our infrastructure, outside the Reddit mobile or web client.
What resolution are Reddit gallery downloads?
We fetch the source URL from media_metadata — typically the highest-resolution i.redd.it variant (often the 'source' or 'preview' resolution marked as original). No recompression is applied.
Does Instabatch support Reddit galleries with GIFs and static images mixed?
Yes. The Magic Byte sniffer detects GIF8, JPEG, and PNG headers per gallery item, assigning the correct .gif, .jpg, or .png extension for each frame in the ZIP bundle.
