TikTok's web and app UI serve avatarMedium—a compressed circular crop. Instabatch queries the backend user API and reads the avatarLarger field, which contains the direct CDN URL to the full-resolution profile photo without size-restriction parameters.
Can TikTok creators see that I viewed their DP?
No. Instabatch fetches the avatar CDN URL server-side through residential proxies. You never authenticate with TikTok, never load their profile page from your device, and the creator receives no view notification.
Does this work on private TikTok accounts?
Yes for profile pictures. TikTok avatars are served from public CDN infrastructure regardless of account privacy settings. Only the DP asset is accessible—private content remains locked.
Why is the TikTok app avatar blurry but Instabatch returns HD?
TikTok deliberately downscales avatars in the UI for bandwidth. The avatarLarger API node stores the uncompressed source. Instabatch selects that node exclusively, delivering the native resolution without upscaling.
Can I paste just @username without the full TikTok URL?
Yes. Our normalizer converts @username to https://www.tiktok.com/@username before querying the user API for the avatarLarger CDN link.
What is the difference between avatarMedium and avatarThumb on TikTok?
TikTok stores multiple avatar variants: avatarThumb (~100px), avatarMedium (~200px), and avatarLarger (full resolution). Instabatch always prioritizes avatarLarger to deliver the original-quality DP.
